Incoming MSCS Student@UIUC · AI for Systems
About Me
Hi, I am Pial. I am an incoming MSCS student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, starting in August 2026, where I will work in Professor Tianyin Xu's lab. My research spans AI for systems, site reliability engineering, and formal methods, including SREGym and Specula. Previously, I worked as a Software Engineer at Monsha.AI, building AI-powered tools for educators. I earned my BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
You're beautiful as you are, Courage. With all your imperfections, you can do anything.
Research Interests
My research focuses on AI agents that can reason about, verify, diagnose, and repair complex software systems. I contribute to SREGym, a live benchmark for evaluating AI agents on realistic cloud incidents, and Specula, an autonomous system for generating formal specifications and model-checking system code.
